New Pond Farm is an environmental center coupled with a small working farm. Their mission is to connect people with the land that enriches and sustains us all. A variety of natural habitats can be found on their 102-acre property, including woodlands, wetlands and pastures. Throughout the year, they offer programs, field trips and camps that vary throughout the seasons.

New Pond Farms is also a popular destination in Connecticut for educational nature parties. Year round, kids can be a farmer for a day and get a close look at the barnyard animals, collecting chicken eggs and making a beeswax candle. In February and March, guests can participate in the maple syruping process, such as tapping trees, evaporating sugar and tasting the finished product. In May and June, explore the freshwater marshes and identify species of aquatic life, including frogs, fish, newts and insects. Year-round, New Pond Farm also offers reptile parties and Native American history programs.
